My target audience for my
media product would like the type of genre my magazine is and that would be
aged from mid teenagers to early and middle twenties. These are the audiences
are usually associated to like this type of music than older/elderly people. The
price of my magazine is affordable for these audience, £1.99.
The social group that I mention before is the audience for my media product because they are more likely to listen this the music genre of my magazine are goths, punks and emos and these type of people are usually teenagers however some maybe adults too.

My magazine models dressed similarly
to the target audience because the target audience is more likely to consume
the magazine for the “personal identify” from users and gratification to copy
and to compare themselves to some of the heavy metal artist’s lifestyle as in
the way they dress and behaviour, for example: the clothes that the audiences
wear will be similar or the same as the heavy metal artists because the
audience look up to them and aspire to be like them. I thought of type of clothing to make my
model wear be what is associated to a heavy metal artists so that it would
attract my target audience and this links with Jacques Lacan theory of "the Ideal I" and that's what the audience aspires themselves to be so they copy their lifestyles.
The target audience will
have “Social Interaction” from the "Uses and Gratification" for example: a small
community is built due to the people who likes heavy metal type of music so the
audience will talk about the latest issue and some parts of the article and who’s
in the magazine then they will share their opinions to everyone and express
themselves about how they feel about the magazine and that's how the subcultures of made for emo, goths and punks because of their love of different types of music.
One of my models was
holding a guitar and this is what is associated with a heavy metal artists to
have also my target might look up to the artists with the guitar because the
target audience may play an instrument too also an guitar is what is associated
with what heavy metal artists do.
My audiences are both
gender boys and girls slightly more boys than girls because there is more male
bands in heavy metal than females also Carl Rogers an theorists will state that
the magazine text are encoded to specifically to represent an aspirational
lifestyle offering audiences images of an "ideal self" so this means that the
target audience might change themselves to what text is in my magazine because
my text in the magazine changed their views of how the audiences view
themselves and boys are more likely to change themselves due to the male role
models in heavy metal bands that they look up to than girls because of the lack
of female role models however they may still dress in the same clothes as the
heavy metal artists and posters of them in their bedroom.
My target audience are more
likely to be unique than to follow mainstream norms in society so in the
psychographic profiling from Young
and Rubicam, my target audience will be "Individualists" so this means
that they don’t want to be the same as everyone and they want to stand out and they do this by the representing their social group which is not a norm that everyone has piecing on their mouths and dress in blacks clothes or similar dark clothes.
On the Mosaic UK
classification the target audiences fit into one of these categories is J41
(Disconnected Youths) they are similar to those in O (Rental hub) because the
audiences like I said before is Youth mainly however so people in their
twenties like it too and the audience in the
O(rental Hub) are youth who are likely to be unemployed or have a low job and
wants lots of entertainment so they will want to buy this magazine to gain the
entertainment and this is what the audience might want according on the "Uses and Gratification" "Entertainment and Diversion" that they want also escapism from the real world and zone in the
world of Heavy metal and know the latest information also.
The audience is might have free time to read this magazine at home or on the go and obsessed with heavy metal and might be influences to dress the way the rock artists do, the audience is more likely to live in the urban city than rural ,live with parents/guardian or in a one bedroom flat depending on the age the audience and this is the psychographic from market segmentation of my magazine
The audience is very likely to be in tuned with the next coming magazine and they will probably use media cross convergence to access the magazine at work when they on their break on their phone and they are likely to have knowledge to share with peers and to express there opinions and technology convergence because it allows the audience to be able to do than one function on the device for example: a smart phone does this, the user is able to go on the internet, make calls and download apps like Facebook, Twitter which allows them to express their opinions with peers and get the latest news also they can download the app of the magazine so that they don't have to go to the shop once a month also the audiences might go to some of the events that the bands/artists are performing this is the behaviouristic of the audience from market segmentation of my magazine
The benefit that the audience will get from my magazine is that they will know the up-coming Heavy metal music and the latest news in the word of heavy metal and they are likely to share this information and again this links with "Uses and Gratification" "Social Interaction" and again this is from market segmentation of my magazine
