Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression form it to the full product
In the preliminary task I didn't really know how to use a camera or know the basics like zooming in and out however in the main task I know that now and I know what type of shot I am looking for and the type of pictures that I want to take.

In the preliminary task I didn't know what I was looking for or type of pictures I need but now I do know what I need in my main task.
This the magazine I made in my preliminary and if I was asked to do it now, I would have added more coverlines and make the masthead bigger also put it behind the main image to make my magazine more professional also its an code and convection to do, I would have also made the text of the font size bigger and change the colour to make it readable so that my audiences can see the coverlines.

My contents page for my preliminary task is alright however the font size and text is plain and it doesn't really attract my audiences.
However now my work is better than my preliminary task because I
follow the codes and convention for my magazine and my magazine looks like a real life magazine.

What went well in my research is that I found what I was looking when I was researching the codes and convections, what I would improve is my understanding of the codes and convection when I started my research because I was still a bit confused about what I was actually looking for in my research.

I am happy with my contents page because I looks like a real content page and I wish it was the same for my front cover, people say it looks good however I don’t personality feel that it express what I wanted it to be.

I enjoyed taking the pictures because it was a new experience also I got to see old friends from high school that I hadn't see for a long time also I can keep the photos to remember the good time I had with them when doing the photo shooting as they say photos last longer.

I learnt how editors and writers feel when they produce a magazine, its hard and it takes a long time but its worth making one.

Front cover

Front cover
This is my front cover and I have added a lot of coverlines to it and the colour I used is orange to get the audiences attention and using the orange allows me to highlight that the audience can "win two tickets to see fallout boy" and that's why I used it.

My model I used is suitable for my magazine because my magazine is about a heavy metal magazine and he has piecing so its suitable and its relates to my magazine.

The cover story is the second biggest font on the magazine besides the masthead and I made it the colour "Blue" because of the word "winter"

I added free three posters because its an code and convection that I saw in my research for the magazine to have free posters for the audience and this can be a way to attract my audiences.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

The technology that I used for in my media course is Blogger I was new to blogger at the time and the more I used it, the easier it became to use blogger, the difficult part about Blogger is to insert images on to blogger because I would put it one place then the image will move the whole text and it was annoying. However I overcame my challenges and now I know how to use Blogger properly.

I used a Digital Camera for the first time, it wasn't very hard to use and I made sure I had the strap on so any accidents won’t happen and I learnt how to zoom in and out of my model also I was able to take shoots that I wanted for my magazine successfully also I didn't take lot of pictures because I did would take longer to choose the good ones. Originally I had 3 models than I borrow my friend’s model because I wanted a female model to so I can get so female audiences to by using a female model for my band.

I had to use Photoshop to manipulate the image to use my magazine and it took me a long time to do because the only way I can access Photoshop was in school only and not a home so I couldn't do much at home but only at school I can so lunch times and break time I had to prioritise my time properly so that I wouldn't miss Misses deadlines and it took me long time to find the right colour that won’t look odd or weird on my front cover and contents page and double spread page also when using Photoshop, you to click so many functions such to get the basic thing done for example: re-sizing an image.

I used Indesign to finish my magazine because that’s the rules, Indesign is similar to photoshop however I am still new to using indesign even in the preliminary task much hasn't really change, but I know more about Indesign and how it works now than before.

Survey Monkey is an technology that I didn't know how to use now I know that there are different types of questions and type of styles of questions and I learnt how to get different style of questions for example: multi-choice questions.

I used slideshare for the first time, it was very easy and it took couple of seconds to load my presentation and now learnt that is use slideshare.

I used prezi for the first and it's more presentable than using powerpoint however it takes a long time to understand how to use prezi and this is why I don't want to use it again.

How did you attract/address your audience

To attract my audience I used mise en scene for example: the costume that my model is wearing for the front cover is associated as what heavy metal artists wears and the piercings he is has on makes my magazine look like an a real magazine also the coverlines on my front is what attracts my audience to due to the coverline text is big that it stands out so the audience can see it and to get their attention so they will read it and be interested and to buy the magazine. My model nathienal represents a social group that type of social group may buy the magazine because nathienal is dresses similar to their social group.

I used my model to attract the audience because my model looks an actually heavy metal artist so the audience will be interested and might want to know about the mystery heavy metal artist also the price is what I used to attract my audience because its affordable and reasonable for my target audience they may be able to buy it.

The colour scheme I used is white with a black outline and blue for the main text that’s in the middle of the magazine to show that it’s the most important of the front cover also I used the colour orange to make the content to stand out because the content is free posters and the audiences like free items so by making the background of that circle and rectangle orange it will stand out for the audience to see and also the text in the orange circle is promoting that the audience can win two tickets to see fall out boy live performance and this is how I attracted my audiences to want to buy the magazine and they want it so that they can get the free posters and have a chance to win two tickets to a fall out boy performance.

For the Masthead to be covered it shows that the magazine is well-known so the audience might want to know about this magazine also
masthead name “Fullmetal” when get the audience attention because its states what the magazine is about so they may buy it to find out what it is about. The text size covers the top middle of the magazine so the audience can see it and so it can stand out if though its in the colour Dark red and this is the colour associated with heavy metal magazines.

There are lots of coverlines on the front cover so the audiences will want to know what the magazine is about due to the coverlines also the text size of the coverlines allows the audience to see what the magazine will contain and this is what made the audience attracted to my magazine.

My contents page is well layout and it looks like a real magazine also the font size for my sub heading is good because the audience can see it also I have a editors thoughts and this allows the audience to know what the editor is thinking also it shows that the editor is friendly and welcoming to the audience of the magazine because the editor says "Hello readers" and this all attracts my audience to my magazine because they might read my magazine due to how the editor is welcoming they might want buy my magazine more often.

In my content I also have well known Heavy metal artists and that's what attracts my audience to my magazine because they may want to know more about these artists if they are a big fan also the competition in my magazine may attract my audience too because they might want to try and win the prize.
The cover story font size is big so that my audience may want to read it also it attracts my audience because Damien Glen says "Finally" and the audience wants to know finally what so they may go on that page and read about Damien Glen.

I have a female model that I used to be part of Dark Winter so this will encourage girls to want to read my magazine and found out more about the female who is in Dark Winter on my double spread page.

The article heading is called "Darkness has fallen" and this title will attract my audiences because they will want to how has darkness fallen and whats the story going to be about.

I have used a pullout quote and this may attract my audiences because they can see it the quote straight away so that they want to read the article also the deck can attract my audience because its a summary of my article.

The social group that my magazine represents will attract my audience because they may feel that my magazine expresses the music that they like so they will be likely to like it also they may want to know more about the bands in my magazine because they wear the same clothes as them and they may aspire to be them or like them.

Who would be the audience for your media product?
My target audience for my media product would like the type of genre my magazine is and that would be aged from mid teenagers to early and middle twenties. These are the audiences are usually associated to like this type of music than older/elderly people. The price of my magazine is affordable for these audience, £1.99.

The social group that I mention before is the audience for my media product because they are more likely to listen this the music genre of my magazine are goths, punks and emos and these type of people are usually teenagers however some maybe adults too.

My magazine models dressed similarly to the target audience because the target audience is more likely to consume the magazine for the “personal identify” from users and gratification to copy and to compare themselves to some of the heavy metal artist’s lifestyle as in the way they dress and behaviour, for example: the clothes that the audiences wear will be similar or the same as the heavy metal artists because the audience look up to them and aspire to be like them.  I thought of type of clothing to make my model wear be what is associated to a heavy metal artists so that it would attract my target audience and this links with Jacques Lacan theory of "the Ideal I" and that's what the audience aspires themselves to be so they copy their lifestyles.

The target audience will have “Social Interaction” from the "Uses and Gratification" for example: a small community is built due to the people who likes heavy metal type of music so the audience will talk about the latest issue and some parts of the article and who’s in the magazine then they will share their opinions to everyone and express themselves about how they feel about the magazine and that's how the subcultures of made for emo, goths and punks because of their love of different types of music.

One of my models was holding a guitar and this is what is associated with a heavy metal artists to have also my target might look up to the artists with the guitar because the target audience may play an instrument too also an guitar is what is associated with what heavy metal artists do.

My audiences are both gender boys and girls slightly more boys than girls because there is more male bands in heavy metal than females also Carl Rogers an theorists will state that the magazine text are encoded to specifically to represent an aspirational lifestyle offering audiences images of an "ideal self" so this means that the target audience might change themselves to what text is in my magazine because my text in the magazine changed their views of how the audiences view themselves and boys are more likely to change themselves due to the male role models in heavy metal bands that they look up to than girls because of the lack of female role models however they may still dress in the same clothes as the heavy metal artists and posters of them in their bedroom.

My target audience are more likely to be unique than to follow mainstream norms in society so in the psychographic profiling from Young and Rubicam, my target audience will be "Individualists" so this means that they don’t want to be the same as everyone and they want to stand out and they do this by the representing their social group which is not a norm that everyone has piecing on their mouths and dress in blacks clothes or similar dark clothes.

On the Mosaic UK classification the target audiences fit into one of these categories is J41 (Disconnected Youths) they are similar to those in O (Rental hub) because the audiences like I said before is Youth mainly however so people in their twenties like it too and the audience in the O(rental Hub) are youth who are likely to be unemployed or have a low job and wants lots of entertainment so they will want to buy this magazine to gain the entertainment and this is what the audience might want according on the "Uses and Gratification" "Entertainment and Diversion" that they want also escapism from the real world and zone in the world of Heavy metal and know the latest information also.

The audience is might have free time to read this magazine at home or on the go and obsessed with heavy metal and might be influences to dress the way the rock artists do, the audience is more likely to live in the urban city than rural ,live with parents/guardian or in a one bedroom flat depending on the age the audience and this is the psychographic from market segmentation of my magazine

The audience is very likely to be in tuned with the next coming magazine and they will probably use media cross convergence to access the magazine at work when they on their break on their phone and they are likely to have knowledge to share with peers and to express there opinions and technology convergence because it allows the audience to be able to do than one function on the device for example: a smart phone does this, the user is able to go on the internet, make calls and download apps like Facebook, Twitter which allows them to express their opinions with peers and get the latest news also they can download the app of the magazine so that they don't have to go to the shop once a month also the audiences might go to some of the events that the bands/artists are performing this is the behaviouristic of the audience from market segmentation of my magazine

The benefit that the audience will get from my magazine is that they will know the up-coming Heavy metal music and the latest news in the word of heavy metal and they are likely to share this information and again this links with "Uses and Gratification" "Social Interaction" and again this is from market segmentation of my magazine

Brand eye analysis my target audience.

Core proposition-The audience love heavy rock/metal music

Brand Personality-Passionate, Value for money and music

The Target Readers- Heavy metal lovers(Metalheads)

Says About You- The audience want to be informed about the world of heavy metal music and that they love Heavy Metal music and want to be cheered up because the younger target audience might feel seprated from society and then they read my magazine for escapism to forget their problems and stresses.

Make You Feel- Inspired by the artists/bands

What You Perceive-The magazine gives reviews about a bands and the audience trust their reviews of bands and its unbiased views and this allows the audience to think by themselves about certain bands/artists instead of the audience just listening to the magazine and absorb all the information passionately and this link the hypodermic needle theory where the audiences are injected with ideas and take it all on as passive consumers.

Benefits To You- My magazine benefits the audience because it tells them about the latest bands/artists for example: "Damien Glen and Dark Winter" are new artist also promotions about up-coming events such as festivals and concerts.
